Espers

Esper is a term referring to people who can see and sense spirits, and concurrently can wield spiritual energy to exorcise cursed apparitions with Hồn.

• It’s believed that Esper’s are a product of karma, people who are born with the ability to see spirits is more of a curse than blessing! It is their responsibility to protect the defenseless.

Hồn

Hồn refers to spiritual energy, the power an Esper draws from their own soul/spirit. Spiritual energy is power from the soul. Everyone has it! It’s a supernatural substance in life forms, most don’t have access to it but Espers do. Every living person on earth has some level of this energy, but Espers have an abnormally large amount. Of course, the amount in their Hồn reserve varies depending on the Esper. The Hồn reserve is found in the belly, it’s where it is mainly stored beside the amount that runs through the inner network. It’s important members learn to harness this and regulate energy correctly or it leaves the body pointlessly without use especially when emotional.

• An analogy to better understand Hồn would be to think of it as gas, Hồn is the fuel! Which is used to power application traits and techniques.

Hồn is used to exorcise spirits since only spiritual energy can purge cursed energy (which spirits run on). Hồn on its own is pretty volatile, and hard to use on its own since it’s purely energy force. It acts more like the primary source of power for Espers, it’s more effective when applied in techniques.

Spiritual Faculties

The 5 spiritual faculties are the fundamentals of mastering and balancing the abnormal amount of Hồn Esper’s produce.

The development and balancing of these faculties enforced spiritual energy from mind to release, helping Esper’s unlock their full potential without wasting any Hồn.

• A common way to improve them is by meditation, as a result the Occult Research Club often meditates at the beginning of club hours everyday.

Hồn Manipulation

An Esper’s own manipulation of their spiritual energy into focused actions in order to fight and exorcise curses. Hồn energy can be manipulated into techniques called Applications. Applications are unique techniques used and applied with special traits, these traits are individualistic to every Esper and follow self imposed rules.
